Position: Marketing Administrative Assistant, Marketing Department (South San Francisco, CA)

The Marketing Admin/Assistant will be instrumental in working with the marketing team and creative service team on various aspects of social media marketing and content strategies. The position will also be responsible for coordinating shipping, distribution, and communication around marketing materials, SWAG, and promotional items.

Position: San Francisco Operations Manager (South San Francisco, CA)

Responsibilities: The San Francisco Operations Manager manages all aspects of facility operations across production, distribution, receiving and buying teams. They are driven to provide excellent service to our customers, uphold the core company values, and lead the development of their team.   • Goals & Metrics: Coach staff on goal-setting and problem-solving, and ensure team meets goals through oversight and analysis of data collected. Positions: Los Angeles Production Associate (Los Alamitos, CA)

Responsibilities: Our ideal candidate is excited about helping his or her team achieve our customer commitment. She or he will complete all daily production activities with high-energy and enthusiasm, including:

  • Set-up, restock and breakdown produce on the production line according to FIFO guidelines
  • Pack orders according to fruit maps and shipping labels ensuring that 100% accuracy and quality goals are met, that any special notes are adhered to, and that the box is sorted on the correct shipping pallet
  • Maintain an organized packing space during production: collect fruit for donation and store appropriately, break down cardboard, dispose of trash and recycling, move pallets, restock supplies
  • Follow USDA Food Safety and National Organic Practice protocols to ensure quality and safety of product
  • Fold boxes cardboard shipping boxes and sort recycled boxes
  • Clean the packing area, cooler, dock and warehouse, and help in common area cleaning
  • Complete all individual and team work while staying on-pace during the day and finishing on-time
  • Maintain constant communication with Production Manager and production team during the day, at team meetings, in one-on-one check-ins with the Production Manager, and by email
  • Complete additional projects as necessary with direction from the Production Manager

Position: Chicago Distribution Lead (Bedford Park, IL)

Responsibilities: The ideal candidate is excited about helping the team achieve our 100% customer satisfaction commitment. He or she will manage all daily distribution activities including:

Vendor Management
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with existing and future shipment carriers and couriers
  • Collect data for Courier Score Card and manage couriers according to their ratings on cost, service level, delivery times and other appropriate criteria
  • Meeting quarterly with all vendors to address service needs and improvements
  • Collaborating with the National Distribution Manager to identify new carriers, negotiate service and rate agreements
  • Review and approve distribution invoices, request credits and ensure accuracy of reporting
  • Manage and update all required carrier documents such as Certificate of Insurance (COIs)
  • Supervise pickups to ensure couriers are on time, meet expectations and provide feedback
Routing, Tracking deliveries
  • Review daily Start Date reports and proactively communicate any requests to the drivers
  • Perform regular reporting and forecasting analyses of distribution cost and services
  • Creating new routes to eliminate issues and improve customer satisfaction
  • Ensuring that all drivers are safely handling our product as well as following food safety and organic protocols
  • Communicating with couriers and update Customer Service of any issues that arise that could potentially alter or delay any deliveries
  • Set up internal supply deliveries with freight shippers
  • Assist in being a back-up driver for The FruitGuys employee route, as needed, including acting as a substitute when our driver is out of the office
Customer Service
  • Identifying deliveries that need extra attention and/or are experiencing consistent issues and proactively working with the distribution team and couriers to ensure needs are addressed
  • Following up with couriers to ensure all boxes are delivered on time
  • Visit new and existing customers to ensure the success of the delivery
  • Use our problem-solving model to identify the root cause of delivery issues and successfully resolve issues from customers in a timely manner
  • Make occasional deliveries if needed
  • Be in communication with our Customer Service team to address any adds, cancels and tracking request
Print Shipping Labels
  • Review pending orders for accuracy
  • Print all shipping labels and prepare them for Production
  • Ensure any customer changes are added or removed from production before shipping
Standards, Certifications and Metrics
  • Ensure budgets, deadlines, and quality and brand standards are met for whole department
  • Collect metrics data and develop strategy to meet performance goals and maximize customer satisfaction

Department Leadership
  • Work with all internal departments to solve distribution related problems
