Position: San Francisco Operations Manager (South San Francisco, CA)

Responsibilities: The San Francisco Operations Manager manages all aspects of facility operations across production, distribution, receiving and buying teams. They are driven to provide excellent service to our customers, uphold the core company values, and lead the development of their team. Each day requires oversight of systems, efficient use of resources, and encouragement of creative solutions.

  • Goals & Metrics: Coach staff on goal-setting and problem-solving, and ensure team meets goals through oversight and analysis of data collected. Oversee all cost areas and purchasing, ensuring team budget goals are met and seeking cost-effective and profitable ways to conduct business and meet Company standards.
  • Management & Development: Oversee staff of 20+ employees and directly manage 5 supervisors in achievement of their department goals and standards, their professional development, and the management of their respective teams. At all staff levels, ensure strengths and achievements are celebrated and grown, and areas for growth and improvement are addressed through prompt, specific, supportive, and direct feedback. Ensure consistent organization, collaboration, and time-management across teams at all times.
  • Facility & Compliance: Oversee facility maintenance, equipment, vendors and services. Oversee food-safety, workplace-safety, and organic certifications, as well as up-to-date compliance with all other applicable regulations. Continuously improve cleanliness, organization and environmental-consciousness of facility.
  • Brand, Culture & Team-Building: Make sure all areas are in-line with brand standards and ideals. Act as an example of an enthusiastic, positive, “can-do” attitude, and teach others to strive for 100% in all tasks and zero repeat customers issues. Facilitate team meetings, activities, and the wellness program. Promote 5Rs culture and an energizing, supportive workplace.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Keep in constant communication with staff, manager, other departments, and other locations. Collaborate on additional projects within the facility or company as needed. Work across departments to continue to improve Company systems and procedures, and to identify and resolve any complaints or operational issues in the facility. Meet with other operations managers and national department managers to facilitate communication and ensure current company standards are met and maintained.
  • HR & Talent Management: Manage labor spending and forecasting to stay within budget. Manage hiring and retention within the facility, evaluating whole facility function to identify innovative solutions to staffing needs. Complete formal and informal performance reviews. Oversee staff hours, time off requests, reviews and other HR items.

Position: Los Angeles Distribution Coordinator (Los Alamitos, CA)

Responsibilities: The Los Angeles Distribution Coordinator is responsible for working directly with the other team members and drivers to ensure all daily distribution activities are completed. As part of the Distribution team, a successful candidate will also learn the basic functions of pallet checks, printing tags, processing adds/cancels and printing routing reports. The Distribution Coordinator is to ensure all information is communicated efficiently and accurately to ensure deliveries are met with customer satisfaction. Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

Routing, Tracking, and Customer Service:
  • Managing the routing and distribution of packages originating from Los Alamitos Facility
  • Monitoring same-day pickup deliveries and maintaining shipping logs
  • Recognizing and accommodating requests from the customers
Driver Assistance:
  • Ensuring all scheduled orders are sorted and accurate
  • Assisting the drivers in moving their pallets to their vehicles
  • Ensuring that all drivers are safely handling our product as well as following food safety and organic protocols
  • Communicating with couriers and updating the Distribution Lead and Customer Service of any issues that arise that could potentially alter or delay any deliveries
Freight:
  • Set up intra-facility or customer freight deliveries
Print Shipping Labels:
  • Review pending orders for accuracy
  • Print all shipping labels and prepare them for Production
  • Ensure any customer changes are added or removed from production before shipping
Proactive Efforts:
  • Identifying deliveries that need extra attention and/or are experiencing consistent issues and proactively working with the distribution team and couriers to ensure needs are addressed
  • Reviewing daily Start Date reports to proactively communicate any requests to the drivers
  • Working directly with the Retention team to resolve delivery issues
  • Assist the development of courier ratings or methods to objectively rate West Coast couriers on cost, service level, delivery times and other appropriate criteria
  • Following up with couriers to ensure all boxes are delivered on schedule
  • Creating new routes to eliminate issues and improve customer satisfaction

All while working to increase efficiency, effectively manage the routes, and uphold the core values of the Company.

Positions: Los Angeles Production Associate (Los Alamitos, CA)

Responsibilities: Our ideal candidate is excited about helping his or her team achieve our customer commitment. She or he will complete all daily production activities with high-energy and enthusiasm, including:

  • Set-up, restock and breakdown produce on the production line according to FIFO guidelines
  • Pack orders according to fruit maps and shipping labels ensuring that 100% accuracy and quality goals are met, that any special notes are adhered to, and that the box is sorted on the correct shipping pallet
  • Maintain an organized packing space during production: collect fruit for donation and store appropriately, break down cardboard, dispose of trash and recycling, move pallets, restock supplies
  • Follow USDA Food Safety and National Organic Practice protocols to ensure quality and safety of product
  • Fold boxes cardboard shipping boxes and sort recycled boxes
  • Clean the packing area, cooler, dock and warehouse, and help in common area cleaning
  • Complete all individual and team work while staying on-pace during the day and finishing on-time
  • Maintain constant communication with Production Manager and production team during the day, at team meetings, in one-on-one check-ins with the Production Manager, and by email
  • Complete additional projects as necessary with direction from the Production Manager

Responsibilities The Market Manager manages all aspects of fruit operations and client satisfaction in their region.   • Key Account Management, Client Retention & Brand Development: Make client visits and deliveries several days each week. Promptly and professionally resolve client issues however necessary.   • Budget, Goals & Metrics: Gather and analyse metrics data. Oversee all cost areas and purchasing, ensuring budget goals are met and seeking cost-effective and profitable ways to conduct business and meet Company standards.
  • Vendor Management & Development: Identify, develop and manage relationships with good partners for The FruitGuys, particularly couriers, farmers, and our order fulfillment partner.
