Akane Apple

This red mid-season apple bears the taste of Fall’s crispness in each bite. Pronounced `ah-kah-nay,’ this apple originated in Japan and is also known as Tokyo Rose. The Akane apple is big, round & red, with crisp white flesh. It looks like a Jonathan because it is a cross of Jonathan and Worcester Pearmin.

Storage Tips

Apples should be kept in a cool (below 60/70°F) space away from sunlight and heat, where they will keep for two weeks. Refrigerated apples can last as long as six weeks.
