1 head of red leaf lettuce, washed, dried, and torn in pieces
1 apple of choice, cored and sliced
1 pear of choice, cored and sliced
½ cup each candied walnuts or pecans, dried cranberries, and/or crumbled gorgonzola, blue, or goat cheese (optional)
2 tablespoons fresh orange juice, lemon juice, or red wine vinegar
¼–½ cup extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon honey
½ tablespoon Dijon mustard
- Prepare lettuce and place in serving bowl.
- Whisk or shake citrus juice or vinegar with olive oil, honey, mustard, and salt until emulsified and pour over the greens.
- Top with sliced fruit, and candied nuts and dried cranberries if using.
