Great Grape

grapes

I have to admit that as a kid growing up on the East Coast in the ’70s and ’80s, I didn’t really know what real grapes were. I mean, I knew what they were, but somehow I thought that the two grape-foods I was exposed to regularly were the true markers of grape taste: glass-bottled [...]

Red Grapes

What did the grape say when it got stepped on? It let out a little whine… Poor grape. In the FruitGuys cases are Table Grapes grown exclusively for eating. Nurtured in the San Joaquin valley on good soil and water – you won’t want to step on these sweet crimson darlings. Share and Enjoy:

What did the grape say when he got stepped on? He let out a little wine. There are table grapes and wine grapes. The Red Crimson grapes in the FruitCases this week are juicy and make a stellar snack when chilled. Smaller clusters can be cut from the main group – everyone shares, no whining. [...]

Red Blake Grapes

Fresh-as-can-be grapes from farmer Blake Carson and family in Kingsburg, CA (see newsletter). Kingsburg is an old Swedish settler’s town. And these grapes are so fresh you may exclaim: “Hej hopp iblrsskogen!”. It’s a Swedish idiomatic expression of surprise but it literally means “Hello, jump in the blueberry forest!” Share and Enjoy:
