How to Celebrate National Fruit at Work Day 2017

Can a selfie ease hunger or increase health? It can if it’s posted this October 3, National Fruit at Work Day! Eleven cities will host banana giveaways where you’ll have a chance to selfie your way to doing good for your community.

If you work in San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Austin, Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, or Boston, keep an eye out for The FruitGuys ambassadors handing out free bananas at popular commuter intersections (you’ll recognize them by the full-body banana suits). Feel free to take an extra banana to share with a colleague or a friendly face on the street.

Selfies Can Change the World

When you get your banana, be sure to take a selfie with our banana ambassador and share @fruitguys on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram with the hashtag #FGBanana.

  • For every selfie posted, The FruitGuys will add an extra serving of fruit to our weekly food donations the week following National Fruit at Work Day. In 2016, we donated more than 2 million servings to local food banks.
  • In addition, every fruit selfie posted with #FGBanana will be automatically entered to win a handcrafted wine-barrel fruit display bowl. (Winner selected at random. Fruit not included.)

National Fruit at Work Day was established in 2015 to celebrate the joys of eating fruit at the office. Each year, The FruitGuys sponsors events that promote the benefits of providing fruit in the workplace. Benefits include increased health and productivity, employee retention, and overall happiness! Existing FruitGuys customers will receive a special appreciation gift and are also encouraged to post selfies from work with their favorite piece of fruit.

Follow the fun on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, where we’ll report on the number of fruit donations generated and announce the winner of the fruit display bowl.
