One of the oldest cities in the United States and the birthplace of the American Revolution, Boston has served as the cultural and commercial heart of New England for centuries. The city’s tree-lined streets are dotted with historic sites, thriving businesses, and institutions of research and higher learning; its strong connection to the past complements its innovative spirit. The FruitGuys is proud to have become part of Boston’s history when we found a home here in July 2016. Since then, we’ve been distributing fresh fruit to businesses throughout New England, including hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and tech firms.

What’s right for my office?
Whether you are a Fortune 500 company with multiple locations across the country or a start-up in stealth mode, fresh fruit in the office is great way to keep employees happy and engaged while showing your staff that you value a healthy, positive environment. Our small mixes are ideal for an office of 3–10, our medium mixes feed 10–18, and our large boxes are great for 18–35 folks. If your office is larger than 50 employees, please reach out to us or let us know how to get in touch—we’ll craft a custom fruit-at-work program that’s just right for you.

Our team in Boston works with area vendors and farmers to source local produce from small farms throughout the region, including apples, pears, peaches, nectarines, plums, Concord grapes, and wild Maine blueberries. We’re especially excited about our New England Heirloom Apple Series, which launched in the fall of 2017. For three months in the fall, our weekly mix features a unique heirloom apple variety, such as Cox’s Orange Pippin, Blue Pearmain, and Hubbardston Nonesuch. These heirlooms, grown by Scott Farm Orchards in Vermont, give customers an introduction to delicious apples that once were common but have since become rare.
The FruitGuys is devoted to sharing the bounty with those in need. In Boston we partner with the nonprofit Lovin’ Spoonfuls, a food rescue organization that collects fresh, healthy food from grocery stores, restaurants, farms (and The FruitGuys!), and distributes it to more than 120 organizations that help feed Boston’s hungry. Katy Jordan, Lovin’ Spoonfuls’ communications director, says it best: “In 2017 alone, we collected 27,433 pounds of fruit from FruitGuys—enough to distribute across seven nonprofit agencies that feed hungry people each week. It’s meaningful partnerships with companies like FruitGuys that enable us to do the consistent work that we do. That is, keep fresh, healthy food out of landfills, and help alleviate hunger in our communities.” Our Donate-a-Crate program, which allows our clients to forward their unused fruit boxes to a local charity, is partnered with Rosie’s Place, a shelter for poor and homeless women.
Our team in Boston can set up fruit deliveries for your company’s offices whether you have five employees or five hundred.
