Balancing Act: How to Maintain or Improve Your Balance

Balance is important in all sports and the physical activities of daily life.
Older people’s balance may worsen because they tend to have declining muscle strength and joint flexibility, as well as reduced vision and reaction time. But lack of exercise can contribute to balance problems at any age. Alcohol, obesity, neuropathy (nerve damage in the lower legs), some medications, and even wearing the wrong eyeglasses can interfere with balance. There are many ways to help maintain and/or repair your sense of balance, here are a few.
