New Zealand developed the Pacific Rose apple -a crisp, sweet desert apple. Pretty and sweet, its red skin surrenders crisply to cream-colored flesh. One of the larger apples, the Rose has descendants from the East Indies and is kin to the Gala Apple. Rose apples also grow in the US.
