Peaches were probably first domesticated about 4000 years ago in China. By cultivating and passing the knowledge and seedlings down the Silk Road we now benefit from thousands of varieties of peaches. Mark Twain reminds us: "Training is everything. The peach was once a bitter almond; cauliflower is nothing but cabbage with a college education." This weeks peach is yellow fleshed freestone called Summer Zee.
