An American original - just like a starlet discovered at a Hollywood soda fountain the boysenberry was a product of a talent search. In 1920, berry expert Walter Knott (as in Knott's Berry farm) tracked a rumor of a delicious berry to Boysen's broken down farm. Partners Darrow and Knott resurrected the berry knowing it was a diamond in the rough, a berry bound for greatness.
