Meta Dunn was driving to work at The FruitGuys Chicago warehouse listening to radio reports of the devastation from the massive tornado that destroyed miles of Moore, Oklahoma, killing 24 people including 9 children, when she thought, “What can we do to help?”
The FruitGuys has formed a new non-profit organization to promote sustainable agriculture practices for small farms, an evolution of the company’s Farm Steward Program, which has provided farmers with aid since 2008.
During the 2011 holiday season, generous FruitGuys' customers provided thousands of people fresh fruit at 22 community-based organizations across the country.
