Passion, I See, is Catching

passionfruit_wrinkledMr. Brown is in the kitchen, head down, looking for a spork. Ms. Bright walks into the room and heads to The FruitGuys crate. They smile at one another, nervous to acknowledge the habit they have both fallen into of sharing Twinings Tea every Tuesday at two. Ms. Bright winks, and Mr. Brown trips into the microwave. While a red welt grows on his forehead and the small oven hums in defrost mode, she reaches into The FruitGuys crate and sighs. “The passion is almost gone,” she says quietly to herself.

The Pronouncements of Passion

A cool fall breeze rustled the leaves outside of Peter's toy-store window. "Pauline," he piped." Pat pitched Paul a prototype policy that primes Pat for promotion." Pauline pulled the penguin puppet away from her proboscis and proclaimed: "Post-protozoan pull-toy and post-primate princess?" She probed. "She's prolific," Peter pronounced. "It's the purple passion fruit," she posed. "Patiently wait until shriveling, portion in pieces, spoon out the inside and place in pie-hole. UMM - perfecto."

Passion Fruit

Our passion fruit comes from John Koman at White Dove Farms in Santa Paula, CA. John is passionate about his fruit and personally hand-snips it for us from vines he cultivated in his old lemon orchard. Passion fruit is rich in vitamins A and C, is a good source of potassium and iron, and its seeds are high in dietary fiber. When ripe, it has a lovely fragrance, its skin is shriveled, and its pulp has a sweet-tart flavor.
