GMO Labeling Initiative

The FruitGuys supports California’s Prop 37, the “Right to Know” GMO (genetically modified organism) labeling initiative. This issue is important to Americans everywhere, not just in California.
YES ON 37—WHY?
We believe in transparency. Labeling GMO products and allowing consumers and companies to choose whether or not to use them is core to our belief in consumer choice. While The FruitGuys elects not to support GMO products, we still believe everyone (whether they agree with our perspective or not) has the right to information that helps them make purchasing decisions.
Support for small farms
We support small farms and heirloom produce. We believe that small farms help sustain a way of American life and land management that is important and personal. We believe that GMO farming, currently limited to grain crops, is ultimately rooted in a very different approach to farm management. We believe that the introduction of intellectual property around the seeds (sold to farmers) is a harmful influence in the realm of genuinely sustainable farming. As a small, privately held family business, we value working with farmers who are personally stewarding their land and crops in a long-term sustainable way.
Ingredient components
Outside of fresh fruit and vegetables, as we grow our business and think about healthy snacks, we want the ability to easily identify which products are made from GMO foods so that we can avoid them.
Thanks for your support of what we do and the farmers we are in service to. Be well! chiefbanana@fruitguys.com
