Inc.’s 2023 Best In Business Awards Recognize The FruitGuys

We’re sharing fistbumps and high-fives at FruitGuys headquarters today in celebration of a big achievement: We just received one of Inc.’s 2023 Best In Business Awards! The award recognizes our recent work to fight food insecurity across the United States. 

“It’s an exciting honor to be named a Best in Business company by Inc.,” says Sheila Cassani, The FruitGuys’ Head of Impact. “We love that these awards really focus on mission-driven companies making positive changes in the world. At The FruitGuys, we do that through hunger relief, which is one of our core initiatives. We make sure all of our excess and visually imperfect fresh fruit, vegetables, and snacks reach our local community partners rather than going to waste.”

The FruitGuys has donated produce to hunger relief organizations to feed communities and fight food waste since opening its doors in 1998. As a Certified B Corporation, we also work to kick hunger to the curb and support farmers by donating a minimum value of 20% of our profits each year. Here’s a snapshot of our impact in 2023.

In 2023, The FruitGuys fed 677,123 through our weekly donations; diverted 315 tons of CO2 emissions by reducing food waste; and awarded 18 grants for sustainability projects to small farms and agricultural nonprofits through our nonprofit project, The FruitGuys Community Fund.

Last but not least, our generous clients also fed 40,972 people via our Donate-a-Crate program in 2023. This program makes it easy to participate in our hunger relief efforts or support other charitable organizations. They can forward their weekly deliveries to a local hunger relief organization when their offices are closed, or donate boxes anytime. We’re always amazed by the generosity of our Hunger Relief Heroes!
