June Celebrations

I love June. It’s the month when stone fruit becomes abundant, the hours of sunlight in the northern hemisphere reach their peak (summer solstice), and when we celebrate both Juneteenth & Pride month.
Celebrating and bringing interest to the stories, successes, and struggles of Americans who are Black and/or LGBTQ+ is important to our company. We support a world that values everyone and promotes diversity. A key component of this support is shared economic success through the purchase of products from diverse farmers and vendors.
With that goal in mind, in June we are launching a new snack program that is focused on bringing the stories and products of diverse food producers. Each month we will celebrate one or two snacks and the stories behind them.
June Snack Highlights
Two Chicks
Shannon Ronan and Breelyn MacDonald are not only co-founders of Two Chicks Jerky, but they are also married, making their
snack business a true labor of love. As June is Pride Month, we’d like to celebrate not only an LQBTQ+ business but a women-owned one as well. Here’s to a match made in jerky!
Pipcorn
Pipcorn supports farmers that grow the heirloom corn they use in their fabulous popcorn. Founders Jeff and Jen (brother & sister) and Jeff’s wife Teresa started Pipsnacks in 2012 after they found an Indiana farmer that grew the unique corn they were looking for. They are a women and family-owned business that identifies as “Black, White, Chinese, and Queer.”
We love the snacks of Pipcorn and Two Chicks Jerky and hope that you will try them in June and beyond.
Happy Juneteenth and happy Pride Month to all!
