No, it’s not a new TV series—Marty’s “angels” are Angelcots, a special variety of apricots grown exclusively by Marty Maggiore and his family in Brentwood (Contra Costa County), CA.
Every year, at some point during stone fruit season, The FruitGuys crates across the country feature these light, cream-colored apricots with a bit of blush and a heavenly flavor. The Maggiore family has been growing these beauties since 2002. Prized for their special flavor and unusual light color, Angelcots are a cross between a white Moroccan apricot and an Iranian apricot called the Tilton.

Angelcots are extra-juicy, refreshing, and delicate. So delicate that the fruit pickers at the farm wear white cotton gloves while handling these little cherubs.
Like other apricots, Angelcots are high in vitamin A, which promotes good vision, and beta-carotene, which makes them great for heart-health. Angelcots are also a good source of dietary fiber, like other apricots. They just taste better.
