Meet the Bunch — they’re a team of crime-fighting bananas spreading a fresh fruit gospel on the Las Vegas Strip. Why Las Vegas, you ask? Well, Sin City is America’s still-beating heart for debauchery and poor life choices, which makes it the perfect candidate for a FruitGuys takeover.
The two bananas start by belting out Elton John’s ballad “Your Song,” whose lyrics represent every fruit’s struggle in the food pyramid. “I know it’s not much, but it’s the best I can do/ My gift is my song and this one’s for you/ And you can tell everybody this is your song/ It may be quite simple but now that it’s done/ I hope you don’t mind that I put down the words/ How wonderful life is while you’re in the world,” the fruits sing as they saunter down the strip, taking photos with wide-eyed and merry tourists. Their gift of song inspires people around them to feel childlike wonder for organic, nutritious fruit, as the gorgeous Vegas skyline shimmers in the background.
“Bananas!” shouts a drunken man, clutching his beer. “I love bananas!” Us too buddy, us too. I mean, what’s not to love?
