Also known as the Pink Navel orange, the Cara Cara looks like a regular orange from the outside but has bright, juicy, pink flesh once peeled. Discovered at the Hacienda Cara Cara in Venezuela in 1976, this navel is sweet and low in acid. Its flavor is complex, with notes of cherry, rose petal, orange, and blackberry. Delicious eaten out of hand, this seedless, juicy citrus fruit is also great in salads.
