We have a few exciting snack options to share, but first, let’s take a quick look at why Pride and Juneteenth matter in the workplace. Then, we’ll give you ideas for incorporating them into your office celebrations in a fun and educational way.

Why Does Celebrating Pride and Juneteenth at Work Matter?

Both of these holidays celebrate folks from marginalized communities: Pride Month highlights the contributions of LGBTQ+ people, and Juneteenth (June 19) marks the end of Black slavery in the United States. Highlighting them shows that you value a positive, inclusive work environment for everyone—including your Black and LGBTQ+ employees. Giving them the spotlight creates camaraderie and can boost your company culture and retention, too.

In a 2023 Pew Research Survey, 84% of workers polled said they thought focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at work was either good or neutral. And according to the workplace culture consulting firm Great Place to Work, inclusive companies are more likely to have happy, long-term employees. Its research found that workers who trust that they and their coworkers will be treated well “regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or age” are:

  • Almost 10 times more likely to look forward to the workday
  • More than six times more likely to feel proud of their work
  • More than five times more likely to want to stay in their jobs long-term

There’s no “right” way to celebrate Pride or Juneteenth, but food is a great place to start. Purchasing a catered lunch from a Black- or LGBTQ+-owned business in your area or scheduling a bulk delivery of snacks from Black- or LGBTQ+-owned brands is a fun and delicious way to show your support.

If you’d like a little help with the latter, these are a few of the best single-serve office snacks for Pride and Juneteenth that we offer here at The FruitGuys.

An LGBTQ+-Owned Snack for Pride Month: Granola from Early Bird Foods Co.

Hand holding Early Bird's Farmhand's Choice Granola

Early Bird is a nearly 20-year-old granola company hailing from Brooklyn, New York. Founder Nekisia Davis (she/they) came up with the original Farmhand’s Choice recipe on a dare in 2008, and it hasn’t changed! Today, she runs the business with her partner in life and work, Jen Watson (they/them). They make delicious granola with simple ingredients. It’s just the right mix of sweet and savory thanks to maple syrup, brown sugar, olive oil, and salt.

  • Kiss My Oats — Simple and classic, made with oats and Early Bird’s signature sweet-and-savory fixings
  • Farmhand’s Choice — The Kiss My Oats base, loaded with extras like sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, coconut chips, and pecans

A Black-Owned Snack for Juneteenth: Allergy-Friendly Cookies from Partake Foods

Denise Woodard and her daughter, Vivienne

Denise Woodard founded Partake Foods to solve a problem for her then 1-year-old daughter, Vivienne. Vivienne is allergic to nuts, eggs, bananas, and corn, making everything from birthday parties to airport trips stressful. Partake’s cookies came to the rescue! They’re sweet treats that are certified gluten-free, vegan, non-GMO, Kosher, and free from the top nine allergens. The company is also a Certified B Corp that helps fight hunger and—in a nod to Denise’s Black and Asian American heritage—helps give Black students a leg up.

For Juneteenth 2025, we got our hands on a limited supply of single-serving packs of Partake cookies in two flavors.

Partake Crunchy Chocolate Chip and Classic Grahams cookies

  • Crunchy Chocolate Chip – Bite-sized, classic chocolate chip cookies without the allergy worries
  • Classic Grahams – Bite-sized, nostalgic cinnamon cookies that bring back s’more memories

How to Celebrate Pride and Juneteenth With Snacks

If you like the idea of a snacky celebration but aren’t sure where to start, try one of these easy ideas to bring employees together.

1. Coordinate a ‘Snack & Learn’

Schedule a time for your HR department or a local diversity professional to talk about Black and LGBTQ+ representation in the workplace. You can even spice things up with a round of relevant history trivia. Then, send everyone back to their desks with a snack from a Black- or LGBTQ+-owned brand.

2. Plan a Volunteer Day

Connect with a local nonprofit or advocacy group that supports the Black and/or LGBTQ+ community, like The Human Rights Campaign, and invite your team to join you. This is a great option for hybrid teams, too, as there are plenty of remote and in-person opportunities. Fuel your team’s work with snacks!

3. Host a Snack Unboxing Party

Order one of the best single-serve office snacks by the case from a Black- or LGBTQ+-owned brand, then invite your team to taste it together and learn about the founders’ story. For more in-depth educational materials on any of the snacks listed above, reach out to The FruitGuys—we’re happy to help.

4. Discover Pride and Juneteenth History

Watch short videos on the history of Pride and Juneteenth together and pass out snacks to munch on while you watch. Or, give them a few hours off work to explore a local Black or LGBTQ+ landmark. Then get together and ask each person to share something they learned.
