As the sun rose this morning, it brought joy and celebration because it’s a very special day: NATIONAL FRUIT AT WORK DAY! (Or NF@WD for short.)
There are, according to Google, over 1,500 days on the National Day Calendar. This week includes not only NF@WD but also Fluffernutter Day and Moldy Cheese Day, so why not celebrate fruit at work? We created this holiday years ago to have some fun and celebrate both the tasty snack that is fresh fruit and folks like you who bring its goodness to the office.
Which Fruits Do Workers Like Best?
During an interview yesterday about NF@WD, a reporter asked me about what kinds of fruit offices like best. I find there are generally two types of offices:
- Offices that prefer easy-to-peel, eat-out-of-hand fruits like bananas, apples, and citrus (more specifically mandarins)
- Offices that enjoy lesser-known or highly seasonal fruits mixed in with those classics, like kiwi berries, dragon fruits, and Asian pears
But no matter which category an office falls into, you can be sure it’s getting bananas.
At The FruitGuys, we often hear that bananas are the most popular office fruit. They’re easy to eat, healthy, and can be used in different ways. But we wanted to see what you all think! So this year we’re celebrating NF@WD with a little poll.
Vote for Your Favorite Fruit!
Head over to nationalfruitatworkday.com before midnight tonight, and you can vote for your favorite fruit to eat in the office. Whether you’re in the office today or not, enjoy a piece of fruit and smile knowing that yes, there is a holiday for that.
