What makes The FruitGuys different from other office fruit delivery companies?

The FruitGuys is a women-led, B Corp Certified business! We have more than 25 years of experience delivering farm-fresh fruit to offices and beyond, and with our 100% satisfaction guarantee, you know it will always be delicious. šŸŒ šŸŽ

We truly care about our supply chain, prioritizing sourcing fruit from local farms and snacks from mission-minded makers (including many that are women-owned, BIPOC-owned, LGBTQ+-owned, and more). We also give back with every box, donating a minimum value of 20% of our annual profits to relieve hunger and support small farms. šŸ’š

Plus, our customer service team is staffed by real people who listen and care—no robots here! Read the full story of our company

Thanks to our farmer friends, we deliver the best fruit on earth! šŸŒŽ Our curated fruit mixes and bulk fruit cases feature a variety of high-quality, unique, and heirloom bites, from bananas and apples to rambutans and Ojai Pixie tangerines. We also have organic options.Ā

We source our fruit from small American farms whenever possible, but we’ll also look farther afield to bring you the widest variety and freshest flavors. Each week, our expert buyers hunt down the best-tasting produce available to fill our mixes. See what’s in your local mixes this week.Ā

Yep, we have conventional and organic fruit mixes for you to choose from. The FruitGuys is a certified organic food handler through California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF), and we’re proud to partner with organic farms that prioritize keeping our planet healthy. šŸ§‘ā€šŸŒ¾

Our organic options go beyond fruit, too! Our Organic Basics Box, Fruit & Veggies features farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, and many of the packaged snacks we offer are also organic, although we don’t have a dedicated organic snack box.Ā

Yep! We also deliver healthy office snacks from mission-minded brands in curated snack mixes and bulk cases. 🄨 You can order just fruit, just single-serving snacks, or a mix of both for your office, school, or home. Our Organic Basics Box also includes farm-fresh vegetables.

Yep—we deliver everywhere in the continental US, plus Alaska and Hawaii. Just enter your zip code while you shop to see which products are available in your region.

South San Francisco is our home base, but we have facilities nationwide. You can find us in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Seattle. If you’re an American snacker, we’re not far away! šŸ‡ šŸŽ šŸ

We don’t own or operate any farms, but we’re proud to partner with a network of farmers and suppliers across the country who do things better than we could! Some of those farms have shared their fruit with us for more than 20 years, and 75% have been our partners for at least five years. We buy produce directly from more than 50 farms to bring you the freshest possible fruit. We also support sustainable agriculture through The FruitGuys Community Fund, which provides annual grants to small farms for sustainability projects.

If you’re ever unhappy with something we deliver, we’ll replace it or issue a credit immediately, no hassle! šŸ’›

What kind of fruit will be in my box?

That depends on the box you chose! All of our fruit mix options are a little bit different, and the fruit inside changes weekly and seasonally. Each week, our produce buyers choose what’s most delicious from local farms and suppliers to create custom regional mixes. To see what’s fresh right now, you can check what’s in your local mixes this week. šŸ”

We deliver fruit mixes in four sizes: mini (9 servings), small (16 servings), medium (25 servings), and large (50 servings). One piece of fruit typically counts as one serving, but it’s not always a one-to-one ratio. Sometimes it takes two small fruits (like Ojai Pixie tangerines or apricots) to make a serving, and berries 🫐 and grapes šŸ‡ change the calculation, too. So, don’t stress about counting your fruits—just know your serving size will always be the same!Ā

Yep! Every mix—even our simple Staples Mix of apples, citrus, and bananas—includes different fruit varieties each week. Our buyers choose whatever looks and tastes best near you. That means one week you might see navel oranges, Granny Smith apples, and Gala apples in your Staples. Next, you could unbox blood oranges, Pink Lady apples, and Fuji apples. šŸŽ šŸŠšŸŒ

In our more diverse mixes, like the Harvest Mix, you might see peaches and plums one week, and mangos and strawberries the next. We like to keep your taste buds on their toes!

Our fruit mixes are like a greatest hits album—packed with the best and brightest picks of the week. We choose what’s in season, what’s tasting amazing, and what’s looking its absolute freshest at the farms we partner with. šŸ“šŸ« šŸ§‘ā€šŸŒ¾

That means our boxes vary week to week, depending on what Mother Nature’s serving up. For example, if a surprise rainstorm washes out the organic strawberries, we’ll swap in a different fruit rather than send you something less than delicious.

Tell us your fruit delivery dreams, and we’ll do our best to make them happen! Just email us at least three days before your delivery date so we have time to work our magic. ✨ (Customization may cost extra.)

We source as much produce as we can from small, local farms. Supporting those growers is a key part of our mission! But since the seasons and weather don’t always cooperate—and we have more farm partners in some areas than others—we sometimes look farther afield to keep our mixes fresh, fun, and full of variety. 🄭 šŸ

That can mean adding juicy California mandarins to an East Coast winter box or partnering with trusted wholesalers to fill the gaps. Our produce buyers always taste the fruit and only add the most flavorful, high-quality bites to our mixes.Ā Ā

If you want to dig deeper into our sourcing practices, our blog has more on how and why we choose what goes in your box.

Every type of fruit has a different shelf life, but there are tricks you can use to keep your items tasting their best and looking fresh longer. Check out our storage and ripening tips to get those not-so-secret trade secrets. 🤫

For us, flavor comes first! Smaller fruits often have a richer taste because they have less water content. And if your fruit has beauty marks like russetting and scarring, that may mean it came from a small farm that prioritizes taste over looks. To make sure your fruit is always delicious, we send our buyers to visit farms, meet farmers, and taste their produce at its peak.

Does The FruitGuys offer fruit and snack delivery nationwide?

Yep—we deliver everywhere in the continental US, plus Alaska and Hawaii. Just enter your zip code while you shop to see which products are available in your region. 🚚

Yes! Recurring delivery means no more worries about an empty fruit bowl or snack rack in your office break room. Just choose your delivery frequency at checkout—weekly, every other week, or every four weeks—and enjoy regular dropoffs of farm-fresh fruit and/or corporate snacks. If you don’t need recurring deliveries, don’t worry. We do one-time orders, too!

We offer Monday–Friday delivery in most locations, but you can always ask us about any special delivery needs you have.Ā

Nope, we close for federal holidays so that our team can celebrate with their friends and families. If your recurring delivery ever falls on a holiday, we’ll get in touch to reschedule. You can also choose to ā€œfruit it forwardā€ and donate your holiday delivery to a local charity through our Donate-a-Crate program. šŸ’›

Yes! Check out our Farm-to-School Program to learn more. šŸ«

Maybe—it depends on your delivery location. We always try to find you the least expensive delivery option. Sometimes we can offer free shipping, but sometimes shipping costs apply. You can check your cost during the checkout process (before you pay, of course!).Ā

Not yet! Great things are in the works, but for now, please contact us directly if you need to adjust your order.

When will The FruitGuys charge my credit card?

We’ll place a pre-authorization on your card when you order—that’s just a temporary hold, not a charge. Think of it like reserving your spot in the fruit and snack line. šŸŽ 🄨

We won’t actually charge your card until your order ships. Once it does, we’ll send you a separate email with your receipt attached.

Our accounting department would love to help you. You can email them anytime at ar@fruitguys.com!

Is The FruitGuys third-party certified for food safety?

Yes! To keep you healthy, we’re food safety certified and regularly audited by PrimusGFS—an industry leader in food safety certification. You can enjoy our fruit, veggies, and snacks worry-free. šŸ’š

Yes, we always recommend washing your fruit (and your hands!) before you snack. Wash your hands first, then rinse your fruit in cool running water just before you eat it. This holds true for berries, too. Wash them right before you eat them, not as soon as they arrive.Ā

Want to learn more about safe snacking? Visit foodsafety.gov for more fruit and vegetable safety information. 🄦 šŸ„ šŸŠ

Many of the snacks in our healthy office snack mixes are allergy-friendly. However, the mixes rotate every week, and their contents vary. Check out this week’s mixes and choose your region for more information about allergens.Ā

If you’re concerned about nut allergies in your office, school, or home, you’ll love our Thoughtful Nut-Free Box. It includes a rotating selection of corporate snacks that are always free from peanuts and tree nuts.

Is The FruitGuys a sustainable company?

We work hard to operate as sustainably as possible. šŸŒŽ 🌱 A core part of our mission is ā€œregenerating the planet,ā€Ā  and we do it by:

Ā

  • Sourcing fruit, veggies, and snacks from small farms and independent vendors, who help keep our food system diverse, our environment healthy, and our economy sustainableĀ
  • Funding sustainability grants for small farms through The FruitGuys Community Fund
  • Donating our excess and imperfect produce and snacks to prevent food waste and feed people in need across the country
  • Continually improving our processes with our planet in mindĀ

Every year, we crunch the numbers and publish a new impact report so you can see how we’re doing. Check out our current and past reports or dig into our B Corp Certification to learn more about our eco-friendly office fruit delivery practices. šŸ’š

We donate our excess produce and snacks to a network of hunger relief partners that feed people in need across the country. We’ve given away more than 19 million servings since 1998, preventing food waste and reducing over 9,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions! We also prevent waste by including fruit with beauty marks in our boxes.

Yes! The FruitGuys Community Fund awards grants to small farms for sustainability projects. They use them to add solar power, support pollinators, reduce water use, build soil health, and more. We also source fruit from many small farms that use regenerative farming practices.

Our fruit mixes without bananas are almost always plastic-free. Mixes with bananas have a little bit of plastic in the banana cushions to prevent bruising and keep them looking fresh. šŸŒ

Occasionally, we’ll protect delicate fruits like cherries or berries in a plastic bag or clamshell, but we choose cardboard and paper wrapping for them whenever we can.

Our large fruit and snack boxes are handy for storing file folders. šŸ“¦ They’re the perfect size! The smaller boxes with dividers are great for packing delicate items like cups, knick-knacks, or ornaments. Some of our customers even flatten their boxes and use them in place of weed fabric for landscaping. The more creative you are, the more fruitful your boxes will be.
