2024 Real Leaders Impact Awards Names FruitGuys a ‘Top Impact Company’

We’re thrilled to announce that for the second year running, Real Leaders Magazine has named The FruitGuys as one of the world’s Top Impact Companies, this time in its 2024 Real Leaders Impact Awards.

For the last six years, Real Leaders has celebrated companies that are “leading the way in business as a force for good” with its annual awards. To make this year’s list, businesses had to perform well in six categories: Intention, Model, People, Accountability, Collaboration, and Transformation (aka I.M.P.A.C.T.). More than 500 companies applied from over 15 countries — and just 185 made the shortlist. We’re proud to be one of them.

“The Real Leaders Impact Awards recognize companies solving problems through innovative and sustainable solutions,” says Sheila Cassani, The FruitGuys’ Head of Impact. “Here at The FruitGuys, we do that by connecting people with their food and the environment; nourishing communities impacted by hunger; and helping small farms regenerate the planet.”

The FruitGuys is a Certified B Corporation. We’ve donated excess and imperfect produce to local hunger relief organizations since opening our doors in 1998, and we donate a minimum value of 20% of our profits each year to support people and the planet through our GoodWorks Programs. We also make it easy for clients to support charities with healthy food through our Donate-a-Crate Program.

Here’s a snapshot of our impact in 2023.

In 2023, The FruitGuys fed 677,123 through our weekly donations; diverted 315 tons of CO2 emissions by reducing food waste; and awarded 18 grants for sustainability projects to small farms and agricultural nonprofits through our nonprofit project, The FruitGuys Community Fund.

“Giving back has been a key part of the FruitGuys’ mission since the beginning,” says FruitGuys CEO Erin Mittelstaedt. “Every year, we challenge ourselves to get better at serving our customers, our farm and snack partners, our community, our team, and the planet.”

We’re excited to continue living up to the 2024 Real Leaders Impact Awards’ Top Impact Company designation. As we write this, our 2024 grant cycle is underway for our nonprofit, The FruitGuys Community Fund. We’re looking forward to providing more critical support to small farms and environmental stewards this year.
