The FruitGuys Gifts Almost $3,000 to a Gravenstein Apple Farmer

It’s 2025, and Stan Devoto is walking me and two of The FruitGuys’ fruit buyers through his orchard.

“And over here are the new Gravenstein apple trees,” he says.

He shows us a row of young trees about four feet high. They’re baby Gravensteins! He planted them with the extra money we’ve given him over the years from our Gravenstein Apple Boxes.

The Gravenstein Giveback Program

Every summer, we give 16% of the proceeds from our Grav boxes back to the farmers who sell us Gravenstein apples. That’s on top of what we pay for their fruit. It’s our way of thanking them for keeping this special, endangered apple alive in California and encouraging them to keep planting.

The 2026 Gravenstein crop was very small, but I’m proud to say that we sold out of everything Stan could give us. In return, we gave him an extra $2,870.56 to reinvest in Devoto Gardens & Orchards. Every dollar will help his family-owned organic apple farm thrive.

More Ways You Help Us Do Good

The annual Gravenstein Apple Box is just one of our giveback programs. Each year, we donate a minimum value of 20% of our profits to help hunger relief organizations and small farms nationwide. Last year we donated 31%! You can read all about it in our 2025 Impact Report.

I truly believe that business has the power to do good in the world, and I’m honored that The FruitGuys can support our communities and farms through these programs.

We couldn’t do it without fruit and snack orders from people like you. Thank you for making all of this possible!
