Need a Mood Boost? Try This Fruit-Inspired Office Playlist

As a teenager, I went to sailing camp on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. It was a small part of a much larger sleepaway camp. In our little group, there were no more than 16 campers at a time. We all slept in one building—girls on the top floor, boys below—and we sailed on the bay every day.
The problem with sailing camp is that when the wind dies down (which happens often on the Chesapeake Bay in August), you can’t sail. And if there’s rain, your activities are even more limited. So, we had to come up with creative ways to keep busy in our small indoor space.
The Song Game: Rainy Day Inspiration
One game we played was “The Song Game”: Someone chose a word, and then the rest of us came up with as many songs as we could think of that mentioned that word. I fondly remember lounging in the rec room while it poured outside, playing the game for hours and practicing my knot-tying skills. I don’t remember any of the knots, but I do remember lots of songs with the word “blue” in their lyrics.
At The FruitGuys, we played a similar game this week to come up with a summer office playlist of songs about fruit. A few songs about work and snacks slipped in, too, and we have about 40 so far!
A Fruitful Office Playlist for Your Break Room
I think that music, like food, inspires joy and brings people together—so I can’t resist sharing our playlist with you. If you’ve been on the hunt for new office playlist ideas, try putting these fruit-forward tunes on in the break room, starting a dance party with your team, and encouraging them to add on-theme songs that resonate with them.
Pair that with a delivery of fresh fruit and snacks, and you’ve got yourself a midday mood boost worthy of sailing camp.
(Just a note, some songs have some explicit lyrics, but we tried our best to keep things office-friendly.)
