These Sustainable Farming Grants Are Growing Good Across the Country

Did you know that when you buy fresh fruit or snacks from The FruitGuys, you’re also helping small farms plant trees, install drip irrigation, switch their wells to solar power, and more?

That’s because The FruitGuys financially supports The FruitGuys Community Fund nonprofit (TFGCF), which awards grants to small farms every year. In May of 2026, TFGCF awarded $65,000 in sustainable farming grants to sixteen small farms across the country. Each grant funded a sustainable agriculture project.

Four months later, the grantees checked in to share their progress—and they’ve done some amazing work!

Small Farm Grants Make Big Impacts Nationwide

Here are just a few of the things that TFGCF’s 2026 grantees have done so far with their sustainable farming grants.

• In Michigan, Pique Earth LLC’s team purchased four solar dehydrators and installed a 113-gallon composter, reducing pest pressure and giving their community access to more local food year-round 
• In Maryland, Filbert Street Garden’s team purchased a honey bottling system and glass jars to bottle their local honey, which helps fund the free food they give to people in need

• In California, Gonzales Siemens Family Farm’s team put the finishing touches on a mobile seed cleaner that’s now cleaning seeds for six regional farms, reducing transportation emissions and strengthening local seed sovereignty 
• In South Carolina, Wassamasaw Tribe Community Farm & Gardens’ tribal community voted on fruit trees for its new community orchard and pollinator habitat, with planting coming soon

• In Puerto Rico, Finca Abundancia’s team installed a new solar system to power its water well during power outages and planted fruit trees and herbs for its foraging chickens
