Is there a more perfect pairing than chocolate and peanut butter when you’re looking for a pick-me-up at work? It’s salty, sweet, and oh-so-enticing. How can you and your coworkers resist? Actually, you don’t have to—you just need to swap your candy for clean-ingredient office treats like KiZE Bars.

KiZE (rhymes with “wise”) is an Oklahoma-based small business that specializes in nut butter-based bars with simple ingredients like organic honey, oats, and chocolate chips. On top of making delicious snacks, KiZE also gives back. The company helps support people experiencing homelessness, house and educate kids in Haiti, and more.
This year, The FruitGuys partnered with KiZE to deliver its bars straight to offices nationwide through our Thoughtful Snack Boxes and bulk cases.
We sat down with Chief Sales Officer Dillon Schooley to find out how KiZE got started and learn what makes its bars such great snacks for work.

Why You’ll Love KiZE’s Clean-Ingredient Office Treats
The FruitGuys delivers two flavors of KiZE Bars for the office: Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip. Dillon describes KiZE bars as a cross between nut butter-based Perfect Bars and simple-ingredient RXBARs. They offer the best of both worlds—plus an amazing giveback mission.
Founder Jeff Ragan came up with the name “KiZE” by riffing off of kaizen, the Japanese business philosophy of continuous improvement or change for the better.

“The idea was to take a holistic health and lifestyle approach to help others become their best selves each and every day through food, service, and charity,” Dillon told The FruitGuys.
- Simple Ingredients: Every KiZE Bar flavor has just 4–8 ingredients, like oats, organic dates, organic honey, chocolate chips, and egg whites. KiZE never adds seed oils, preservatives, or other additives.
- Nut Butter Base: The KiZE team blends their peanut and almond butters in-house using nothing but nuts, then combines them with ingredients like oats for a satisfying bite. That mix of protein and carbs is great for a quick but lasting energy boost, especially when you pair a bar with a piece of fresh fruit.
- Delicious Flavor: Chocolate and peanut butter are a match made in heaven, and the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bar and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Bar both feature that winning sweet-and-salty combination.
- Soft, Chewy Texture: KiZE Bars are rich and fudgy, with a soft and chewy texture from organic dates and honey.
- Shelf Stable: You can stock KiZE Bars in the break room without worrying about fridge space or a short shelf life.
Checking these boxes makes KiZE Bars great better-for-you snacks for work. But when Jeff first dreamed them up, he wasn’t thinking of the office.

Jeff first dipped his toe into health and fitness as a side hustle. He wrote workout plans and meal plans for his friends and family, and made them healthy snacks, too.
“He wanted to help others live their best life,” Dillon explained.

His snack balls with ingredients like peanut butter and oats were a hit with his clients—and that got him thinking. If I start a nutrition bar company, can I help people on a larger scale? So he quit his job, rented space in a shared kitchen in Oklahoma City, and started KiZE.
“We would sign up for time slots each week and go in and make everything by hand—molding, packing, and stickering—then sell the bars to local coffee shops, friends, and family,” Dillon remembered.
The two friends spent countless hours handing out samples and meeting with local grocery stores. Eventually, the grind paid off! Whole Foods was their first big break, and KiZE took off from there.
Snacks That Do Good: KiZE’s Mission in Action
From day one of KiZE Jeff wanted to help people, and over the years he partnered with nonprofits both in Oklahoma City and as far away as Haiti.
It started with the With All My Heart Foundation—a nonprofit in nearby Tulsa, Oklahoma, that helps house and educate kids in Haiti. From 2014–2019, Jeff shut down the company for a week each summer and flew his small team to Haiti.
“We were supporting them monetarily through donations but we were also physically going out there, helping them build a church or a house or a chicken coop, connecting with the kids in the school, and playing soccer with them,” Dillon said.

When the COVID-19 pandemic and civil unrest in Haiti put those travel plans on pause, KiZE refocused its giving close to home. The company moved from the shared kitchen to its own building across the street from Oklahoma City’s largest homeless shelter, and started hosting monthly events for the homeless community.
How KiZE Helps Its Homeless Neighbors
Jeff, Dillon, and the team hand out KiZE Bars, hot meals, water, and donated essentials like health kits, sleeping bags, and gloves. A few musicians on the KiZE team play live music or DJ, and sometimes a local barber comes by to give haircuts.
“It’s open to anyone and everyone in the community that needs a meal or wants to hang out. We open it up to friends and family to come help serve or come if they need to be served. … We’re trying to create a positive and supportive environment for those in need to come and feel loved and supported,” Dillon said.

KiZE also donates its better-for-you snacks to food pantries and other hunger relief organizations like Feed the Children, helps at-risk youth, and offers second-chance employment to people overcoming drug addiction, alcoholism, and imprisonment.
That’s a big mission for a small snack—and when you order KiZE’s clean-ingredient office treats from The FruitGuys, you’re supporting it with every bite.

- Warm and Gooey: Zap your bar in the microwave for about eight seconds.
- On a Smoothie Bowl: Make your favorite smoothie, then crumble a KiZE Bar on top.
