Take a Breather to Cool Off

It’s hot out there campers. While here in Northern California, we have been blessed with an unusually-cool summer thus far, I know the rest of the country is beating heat records left and right. This intense heat affects farmers and their crops, and it affects our moods.

When it’s so hot you don’t know what to do, when the heat has put your nerves on edge, sometimes the best thing to do is to just take a breath. Breath work can cool your mind, lower your blood pressure, and make you feel less stressed. We launched Take a Breather On Demand to give leaders an affordable and pleasant way to give their team members a guided 15-minute break in their day to pause, breathe, refresh, and reset.

On August 9, we will host our first Take a Breather Lunch & Learn, where Take a Breather’s Shannan Slevin will discuss how to recognize the difference between hunger for food versus the desire for a break.

Shannan will be in conversation with Dr. Adrienne Youdim, physician, author & TEDx speaker specializing in medical weight loss and clinical nutrition; Claudette Johnson, RN and Director of Wellness at the Guidance Center.

Join us for a live discussion on WEDNESDAY AUGUST 9 at 1 p.m. PST covering:

  • The different forms of hunger during your day
  • Benefits of wellness breaks to fight mindless eating
  • Techniques to make breaks a part of your workday
